Building strong relationships with communities in areas where we work and providing local benefits are central to Talisman’s operations in Peru. Talisman strives to be a good neighbour, and engages with communities who are directly and indirectly impacted by our operations to identify their needs and goals so that we can work together to contribute to their development.

We also support local businesses, create jobs, provide medical support and help create educational opportunities for youth. Additionally, we are building local government capacity and helping with long-term strategic plans.

We also recognize that some communities choose to pursue a more traditional lifestyle with little outside contact. In this case, we take special care to ensure that the community’s choice is respected.
