Support in Peru is defined by obtaining minimum two-thirds consent by all community members eligible to vote. To build consent we establish strong relationships with local communities through transparent and ongoing engagement. We believe in early consultation in order to understand the needs of communities directly affected by our operations and to address concerns. We want communities to benefit from Talisman’s operations through job creation, sourcing supplies and services from local businesses and supporting community projects. Safe operations are our top priority, and we take precautions to respect the environment by minimizing our operational impacts.
In Peru, as is the case in all areas where we operate, Talisman acts in accordance with our Policy on Business Conduct and Ethics, our Global Community Relations Policy and we adhere to industry best practices and all local regulations.
